How we check the law

Last updated: October 6, 2026

Towed Help runs free self-help tools for people whose cars were towed or booted in U.S. cities: Towed in LA and the other "Towed in" city tools. Each tool lists the state and local towing rules that apply in that place. This page explains where those rules come from, how each one is cited and dated, and how to tell us about a mistake. The tools are run by TS LaGrange LLC.

The tools and the questions-and-answers pages are in English and Spanish. The Spanish text is a translation of the English summaries. Citations point to the official sources, which are in English.

Corrections

If you think a rule, an amount, a date or a citation is wrong or out of date, please email corrections@towedhelp.org with the city, the rule or page, and the official source you are looking at. We check the official text and correct the tool and its "checked on" date. For questions about using a tool, use the help address shown in that tool.
